No man is born, naturally or supernaturally with character. He has to make character. Just as no man is born with habits... Habits are the product of our own design. Sometimes the biggest downfall in our spiritual life, is that we're always looking for BIG things to do. Jesus took a towel and simply washed His disciples feet. There are times in life where there is no illumination or thrill, just the daily grind.
As overwhelmingly normal as it may seem, we must remember that routine is God's way of saving us between our times of inspiration. Don't expect God to always give you thrilling moments in life or in faith, but learn to live in the everyday routine you sometimes dread, knowing that even in the quiet moments He is engineering your circumstances. Your job is to simply form good character and good habits whether your out changing the world... Or simply washing feet.
